my brain feels like it just ran a marathon.

1st day back to school was rough.

i am so overwhelmed already.

good-bye free time, hello studying!

A Quick Friday...

it's friday! 

woot! woot!

it's my favorite day for real.

 i'm writing this to you in a sort of a hurry because michael has took the day off and

we have been being busy bees! (wow 4 b's there..haha)

we got up and went to garage sales this morning and i found

the cutest clothes! i'll post pics of some later bc they're in the wash :)

today i just decided to do friday fives with beth.

i love these & her blog. 

she's adorable and a fellow tennessean!

1. Something you are OCD about?

i'm not  ocd about hardly anything.

but i guess it's making the bed!

i make it like as soon as i get out of it!

this will be my first christmas not living with my parents but

they always did a fake one and that's what we're gonna do too.

oh man, i wish i could tell you.

i got into blogging when i started planning our wedding.

i searched thru wedding DIY blogs day and night.

after the wedding i stop reading them of course but

i found some craft blogs and now i read after so many.

i think the first non-wedding blog i read was

the pleated poppy.

her sister in law (i think it is)

has a wedding blog called joyful weddings and events

and it was one of my favorites, then i found lindsey at the pleated poppy.

i seriously love blog reading and writing.

oh yeah...one more thing to tell you...

If You Really Knew Me...

it's almost the weekend!

pretty exciting i have to say.

except after that, comes monday, which means 

back to school for me.

 can you tell i dread it already?

anyhoo...earlier in the week i told you about a

neat idea i saw on a cute blog.

now original is one thing i don't really claim to be...

haha.

but i love getting ideas from others.

and i saw this one earlier on Live What You Love...

see C. Mae's post here.

She has the cutest little blog and

is one of my new favorites to read after.

but her post was titled, same as this one, if you really knew me.

it's apparently after an mtv show, that i've never watched, but

i, like her, like the idea of laying it all out there.

because to me, it's the little things that make up a person.

the quirks and differences that make us our own.

so....

if you really knew me,

you'd know that:

-90% of the time i read magazines from the back to the front. i don't know why i go backwards but i just do and i like it.

-i sleep with a blanket that someone got me when i was born! its raggedy anne

to be exact. & i love it with my whole heart. i take it camping and on vacation.

-i had my nose pierced when i was a senior in high school, but it didn't even last a year. i got tired of people asking me what was on my nose!

-my parents got divorced when i was in 8th grade and it was probably one of the hardest times in my life. when i talk about when they were together and we were

a family, it always makes me sad. 

-in high school i was on the newspaper staff and wrote the horoscopes! i love to write and being on the newspaper was dorky. all my friends would be like, why do you

waste your time with that? but i love to write and i miss doing that.

-my dad has a rare disease called myastenia gravis, where he looses muscle function swallowing and one of his eyes droops. i do research all the time to find

out things that will help him, but i feel so helpless when he looks to me for answers.

-i was in an abusive/awful relationship all thru high school and my senior year 

we finally broke up and i started dating michael and have been with

him ever since. i still have dreams that i'm living that life i used to live and 

afraid to leave the old boyfriend and i wake up and honestly feel

like i found my prince charming. i know how lucky i am to have him. 

oh yeah, and i was michaels first girl friend!

[insert awwwww here] haha.

-when i was a kid i wanted to be the first women nascar driver.

then a professional bull rider.

i never wanted a normal job & always wanted to do 

something that's never been done.

i still have my heart set on doing something extraordinary.

-i cry over the stupidest things! seriously, sometimes during commercials.

certain things just tug on my heart and i can't help it.

those pitiful dog commercials or st.jude radiothon

break my heart!

-i have broken my arms 3 times and cracked/sprained them a few more!

as a kid i was always getting hurt and never drank milk!

yikes! i hope my kids are more careful.

i actually have my arm in a cast in this picture!

some final little quirks:

-me and michael are both left handed and born in october.

-we wanna have kids one day, but not anytime in the next 3 years!

right now we are having a blast just us!

-i hate my neck! hate hate hate! esp. in pictures! gross.

-i never wear heels. i hate them. flats? please & thanks!

Summer Vaca is Almost Over!

i'm survived camping...

actually, it was a blast, which I knew it would be.

i haven't uploaded my pictures yet

so stay tuned for those.

but i do have one taken from the phone

of michael and his bass he caught.

it cracks me up because of the huge smile on his face!

i love him...

i was thinking of doing a different kinda post today that 

i read about today, but im gonna save it for thursday i think,

so stay-tuned, it's pretty great.

i woke up this morning not feeling great...

i don't know why, just draggy and sore.

maybe camping is just settling in haha.

but this is my  last week off!

that's right i have to go back to school monday.

(insert a big scream in here)

how did summer go by so fast?!

nursing school is super hard and although i can't wait to be

a nurse, nursing school leaves me with a 24hr migraine! 

so this week, i'm gonna try and get stuff done.

clean the house.

do some crafts.

make a few cards.

and study and try to be prepared for monday :(

but no worries i still plan to try and blog!

as it happens to be my favorite...

that and spending about an hour with google reader every morning.

so, today im going to try and sew some

along with laundry and other things.

i always write in print.

to me...shopping online is convient and who doesn't

love packages in the mail?

but i love spending the day shopping at the store too.

and usually cheaper in my case.  

 

 

 

3. Would you prefer to go camping or stay in a motel?

well, i love me some camping as ya'll know.

but motels are easy peasy which leaves more time for fun. 

 

4. Do your prefer going to the movies or staying 
home to watch one?

staying home!

because no matter what if i go to the movies

i usually feel like i got robbed.

it's so expensive!

   

5. Do you prefer a shower or a bath?

  there is nothing like a good, hot shower.

baths usually make me sleepy,

but i love them on occasion.

well, i guess that's it.

gotta go make the most of the

4 days left of summer vacation!

I'm A Happy Camper!

it's friday

& ive got campin' on my mind!

that's right i'll be headed to the lake this evening

& will not return til' sunday!

i lovee me some camping and the lake

Not-Really Wordless-Wednesday!

it's raining...

it's pouring...

i wish that i was snoring!!

haha it has rained here all day

it's just one of those wet, soggy days.

of course instead of sleeping in or getting stuff done

i've spent the morning trying on different layouts for the blog.

i like this one, for now :)

i sorta get tired of stuff easy. 

here is today's not really wordless wednesday & the theme is

Mod Podge-Dimensional Magic Necklaces

it has been quite a while since i've posted

something crafty.

mainly, because i have been lazy busy...

but i love those cute scrabble tile necklaces that people 

are making and bottle cap necklaces.

i have seen them all over blogland & decided to try my hand at them.

for this project i used:

-mod podge.

-mod podge dimensional magic.

-bag of wooden scraps from hobby lobby.

-scrap paper and images from online.

-jump rings and chains.

first....

have you heard of this stuff?

 i kinda love it.

it makes a glassy look on anything.

i've only used it on jewelry, but ive seen it on 

cards and scrapbook pages and it's cuuute.

so next i just printed off some images

and cut them out to fit the wooden pieces & the bottle cap.

then i just used the regular mod podge and adheared the image to the wood.

 then i punched the hole with my crop-a-dile.

the dimensional magic will NOT fill in the hole. 

*the first few time I did this I noticed my images bleeding...

so i covered the top of the image with modpodge too and that helped.

next, after it's dry, you are ready to apply the dimensional magic!

it will be cloudy as it drys, but it drys clear!

it says to let it dry 3 hours, but i recommend longer, because it

will leave fingerprints if it is not fully cured, so maybe 8 hours or so.

 here is one i did drying--see the cloudiness--it disappears :)

 here are some that are finished!

 i want to wear those 2 together. 

i love these!

 in the end, this was an easy-fun project.

but if your images bleed or you have problems, just make more.

i had to throw a few away, but i am very happy with the ones that turned out great.
